Why High-Performance Women Are Choosing Fitness Travel and Why ACERO’s Maldives Residency Is Leading the Way
Wellness is no longer something women fit into the margins of their lives. For the modern high performer, it sits at the centre, shaping how we work, travel, recover, and ultimately how we show up in every part of life. And nowhere was this shift more beautifully captured than in ACERO’s recent collaboration with The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort.
In December, celebrity trainer and ACERO founder Jono Castano brought his signature training philosophy to one of the world’s most iconic destinations, hosting an exclusive two day wellness residency that redefined what fitness travel can look like. Set against turquoise waters and powder white sand, the residency blended movement, mindfulness, and barefoot luxury into an experience that felt less like a holiday and more like a personal reset.

Fitness, Reimagined in Paradise
On 17 and 18 December, guests were invited to take part in a series of immersive sessions designed to challenge the body while restoring the mind. The experience opened with Beach Boot Camp, where the shoreline became a natural training ground. Using the resistance of sand, the rhythm of the ocean, and the warmth of the sun, Jono guided participants through strength, endurance, and mobility work that felt both energising and deeply grounding.

This was followed by Aqua Fitness, a low impact, full body workout in the resort’s crystal clear lagoon. By using water resistance, guests were able to build strength while protecting their joints, making the session accessible to every fitness level, from seasoned athletes to first time participants.
“These sessions aren’t about burning people out,” Jono explains. “They are about helping them feel empowered, connected to their bodies, and stronger than when they arrived. That is the ACERO philosophy.”

The High Performance Woman’s New Priority
ACERO’s global community is made up of women who live full, ambitious lives. They are leaders, entrepreneurs, mothers, creatives, women who understand that success without wellbeing is unsustainable. The Maldives residency spoke directly to this audience, offering a blueprint for how wellness can be woven seamlessly into even the most luxurious travel experience.

Between training sessions, guests immersed themselves in the St. Regis holistic wellness offering. The Iridium Spa became a sanctuary of restoration, with overwater treatment rooms, Ayurvedic therapies, and bespoke recovery experiences designed to rebalance the nervous system. Many guests adopted daily rituals in the resort’s iconic Blue Hole pool, where therapeutic seawater jets provided deep physical recovery and mental calm.
It was this balance of movement, rest, nourishment, and reflection that made the experience so powerful.

Barefoot Luxury That Truly Supports You
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is not simply a place to stay. It is an environment designed to elevate how you feel. With 77 architecturally striking villas perched above the ocean or nestled within lush jungle, each serviced by a personal St. Regis Butler, every detail of the experience encourages presence, ease, and renewal.
Here, luxury does not feel performative. It feels supportive.

“There is something incredibly powerful about being in a space where your only responsibility is your wellbeing,” Jono says. “That is when clarity returns. That is when confidence grows. That is when real transformation happens.”

Why This Experience Matters
The ACERO x St. Regis residency represents the future of wellness travel, where performance and pleasure coexist, where fitness is not something you pause on holiday but something that enhances the entire experience.
For women everywhere, the message is clear. Your health is your greatest asset, and the most beautiful places in the world are now being designed to protect it.
Because when women return from travel feeling stronger, not depleted, everything else in their world rises with them.
